One Sunday morning in September three enthusiastic villagers planted bulbs in the village, ready for a wonderful show in the Spring—and sent me a short poem to celebrate their efforts.

As Autumn descends and the weather turns colder
On the trees and the leaves, the colours are bolder,
Yet as winter draws in and the colours disappear
We all look forward to Spring drawing near.
With this in mind, 3 eager Kelham villagers
Dug turf and plant bulbs; oh what keen gardeners
So our green spaces in March may be abundant with daffs
For colour once more - they should make nice photographs!
